Prevention, Treatment, And rehabilitation of workplace injuries

Health & Safety Committee Chairperson

The HSC has a strategic workplace wide role, for example, assisting with the development of WHS policies/procedures, setting standards, facilitating consultation between the PCBU & workers, supporting HSRs.

The role of the Committee Chairperson is vital to the success of an effective HSC. They need to prepare for a meeting, conduct and facilitate the meeting, manage and action items discussed and solve problems when issues arise.

This course is designed to give the Chairperson the skills necessary to ensure the procedures of a committee meeting are followed, conduct an orderly and relevant meeting and ensure all members have an opportunity to participate.

Note

It is highly recommended that participants have already completed some WHS training prior to attendance (HSR 5 Day or Effective HSRs and HSCs 3 Day Course).
