Effective Health & Safety Committee 3 Day Training

The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 allows for Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) and Health and Safety Committees (HSCs) as part of consultation arrangements. This three day course provides the knowledge and skills required to assist HSRs and Committee members in effectively fulfilling their roles. Training incorporates multiple group work activities and a practical activity to undertake a workplace inspection at a local workplace, enabling participants to put their knowledge and skills into action. Furthermore relevant case studies, DVD clips and participant’s own workplace policies, procedures and WHS documentation are utilised during the training to enhance relevance. Trainer’s are experienced WHS professionals, SafeWork NSW approvedĀ  trainers and WHS management systems auditors, so they bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the learning environment.

HSRs and HSCs provide an effective way for the PCBU to meet their obligation to consult with workers on work health and safety matters. They are valuable resources in promoting health and safety information to workers. They play an active role in assisting the PCBU to protect workers against risks. They assist in developing a stronger commitment to safety from workers by involving them in decisions on how to manage risks and getting timely resolution of health and safety issues.

Course fee includes course materials, refreshments, morning tea and lunch each day. Free parking is available.
